How the NR global frequency raster works
NR-ARFCN maps an integer channel number to a reference frequency. The step is 5 kHz below 3 GHz, 15 kHz from 3 GHz to 24.25 GHz and 60 kHz above 24.25008 GHz.
One frequency can belong to several bands
Overlapping NR operating bands are common. Direction, regional allocation, carrier configuration and channel raster determine which candidate is actually used.
Specification basis and limitations
The calculator uses band and raster data from 3GPP TS 38.104 V18.8.0. It validates mathematical channel mapping but cannot identify a carrier or live serving cell by frequency alone.
Frequently asked questions
What frequency is NR-ARFCN 620000?
The global raster maps NR-ARFCN 620000 to 3300 MHz. It can fall within NR bands n77 and n78.
What is the valid NR-ARFCN range?
The global raster in this specification spans 0 through 3279165, covering reference frequencies up to 100 GHz.
Why does the calculator show multiple 5G bands?
Several NR bands overlap in frequency. A channel number alone may not uniquely identify the deployed band.
