Coverage maps and tower maps answer different questions

T-Mobile uses distinct names for its 5G coverage layers. Compare the official prediction with nearby tower context and repeatable iPhone speed measurements instead of treating one map color as a performance guarantee. Coverage maps are predictive models. Tower databases are records collected from public, regulatory or crowdsourced sources and can be incomplete or delayed. Neither one can guarantee indoor service.

A four-step iPhone workflow

  1. Search the address in the official T-Mobile coverage checker and note the available network layers.
  2. Open Cell Tower Locator on iPhone and inspect recorded sites, carrier labels and approximate distance around the same place.
  3. Run a mobile speed test from the room or outdoor position that matters, recording download, upload and latency.

Why the closest tower may not serve your iPhone

Mobile networks select cells using carrier ownership, antenna direction, frequency, signal quality, capacity and network priorities. Your iPhone can also move between 5G Ultra Capacity, 5G Extended Range and 4G LTE as conditions change. Treat distance as context, not proof.

Can a webpage identify the exact tower connected to my iPhone?
